Thanks, I doubt its the seconds one though because he didn't have any brothers or sisters that travelled with him on the ship, or his mother... I don't even know where to start looking for more specific information, but what i know for sure is that he was 14 when he arrived in the United States, and his destination was Chicago. I also know that he was born in 1887.

The second manifest list destination as Chicago.....we can keep looking.
Will check the manifest on the first one.....that was thru ancestry, a paid site.

For the best results, I use the SteveMorse site for manifest searches.
Has better results.

http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellis.html

it also gives you more options in search criteria.

Have you placed him on any other documentation??

Was he naturalized? What year?......If naturalized 1906 or later, his naturalization record should provide the information.

Also, if you are looking for the manifest for the Italian town information, a 1901 manifest will not have it.

Are you looking for arrival in NY or some other port? What time frame?

This site gives the best options for locating, but remember not all manifests are online.

If you would like to provide family information, we would be happy to help in locating the correct manifest. If you decide to do this, please start a "new topic" with the informaation, just so there is no mix-up b/t your information & other posters information.
