Palo Del Colle Address

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Palo Del Colle Address

Post by pecqsblendorio »

Hello All,

I am trying to obtain the birth certificate of my great-grandparents who were born in Palo del Colle. I have the letter ready to send, but I am unable to find an address. Anyone know the address or have any suggestions on finding it?

Thanks,

Court

Hi Court,

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Umberto I, 56 (BA)
70027 Palo del Colle
ITALY

Hope it is in Italian & don't forget to include a copy of your photo ID, a self addressed return envelope, & an international reply coupon (it covers the return postage & you get it from your local PO).

You maybe interested in ordering/renting the LDS films for this town. They are films of the original civil records (birth, marriage & death acts) for 1809 to 1900

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the information.

I didn't realize I needed a photo ID, but I did translate the letter in Italian. Are there any fees that you know of? OR will they contact me to let me know about the fees?

Thanks,

Courtney

Hi Courtney,

No fee for birth, marriage, & death acts.

I do recommend the films if your planning on tracing the family.

I am actually working on Italian citizenship for my grandfather, mother and self.

I know my grandfather qualifies, as his parents are from Italy and became naturalized citizens when he was 20 years old. And, it appears he passed the eligibilty down to my mother and I can get citizenship from her (she was born after Jan 1, 1948) . . . Though, I might be wrong.

FOr the the genealogical aspect, I will consult those records, I appreciate the info.

Thanks,
Courtney

Happy to help out.......just make sure all documents have the proper seals or you will not be able to submit them to the consulate.
Good Luck
