PIRRONE, SURNAME FROM ALCAMO SICILY

Post by rlpoloboy21 »

My Great Grandfather Gioacchino Pirrone was born in Alcamo, Sicily in 1893 and moved to the states at the age 19. His daughter is my grandmother and she is 78 and would like to know the name of his parents we believe his mothers first name was Antanina or Ontanina, my grandmother told me she was sure he had two brothers that stayed living in Alcamo and owned a Lemon farm we are trying to find his birth records and siblings and if there is any living relatives still remaining in Alcamo today??? Also my Great Grandmother moved from Alcamo Sicily when she was four years old her name was Bibianna Badalamenti she is my grandmothers, mother..... if anyone can lead me in the right direction for info or know anything please reply!!!

By obtaining US documentation for him & family, you will get information on the previous generation. Ex: his death certificate shold provide his parents names. Another source for this information would be his ss aplication, if he applied.

Due to the naming tradition in Itay, you may find that you need his parents' names to locate the correct birth act in Alcamo.

I've added a link for the 1920 census. Misspellings are very common on records.
