Buccino and Pagani

Post by jklsmith »

Greetings...

Hopefully someone can point me in a direction as I continue to search for our BUCCINO family.

We have been able to find a 1904 Passenger Manifest for grandfather Vincenzo BUCCINO on his return trip from Naples to New York. Per the SS Neckar Manifest, his Last Residence in Italy was Pagani. (Per both the 1900 and 1910 US Censuses grandfather Vincenzo was living with his in-laws-to-be and in-laws DI STASIO et al, respectively, in New Haven Connecticut... and per our records he was born circa 1870 in Italy.)

Is there anything from the Salerno/Pagani area that we can review without having exact dates? Is there anything accessible via the PC? I've perused some of the documentation on this website and it appears that I may be out-of-luck... Is that a correct assumption?

Thanks,

Jim

Would this be the family in 1930?

Name: Vincenzo Buccino

Age: 60
Estimated birth year: abt 1870
Birthplace: Italy
Relation to Head of House: Head
Spouse's name: Giovannina
Race: White
Vincenzo Buccino 60
Giovannina Buccino 40
Giovani Buccino 23
Luigi Buccino 21
Raffaele Buccino 18
Elisa Buccino 16
William Buccino 14
Carla Buccino 13
Vincenzo Buccino 12
Harold Buccino 10
Robert Buccino 6

CT Death index:
Name: VINCE BUCCINO
Death Date: 14 Mar 1962

Age: 91 Years
Birth Date: xxxYOB

If the above is correct you can get his death certificate and it will have his date of birth on it.

There are very few vital records from Italy available on the internet. There have not been records filmed from Pagani according to the LDS website.

Here is the website for Pagani. You can email or write to the cily hall (Ufficio dello Stato Civile) to request birth, marriage, & birth acts.

http://en.comuni-italiani.it/065/088/index.html

All requests should be in Italian & if writing include a self addressed return envelope, a copy of your photo ID & an international reply coupon (obtain from your post office).

Form letter that will translate your request into Italian.

Hope this helps.

VaDeb...

This is the same family... Thanks for the Death Certificate idea... I really wasn't connecting the USA and Italy in this case. Thanks...
