vj, Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every little info coming in just warms my heart. I`v been on the phone with mom every time something new comes in. By the time I get to Florida I won`t have any news to tell her. LOL. I can`t believe she dosen`t remember her grand-mother`s name on the Bevilacqua side. I don`t know why some things have Bevilacqua with an e others with an a. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart. You indeed have been very kind to help in such a big way.

vj's work absolutely awesome!!

I'm not sure how this manifest will help... but am hoping that the surnames Ciancio and Fraietta may ring a bell...

This manifest shows a Domenico Cianco on his way to PA to join his cousin Agazio Martini, leaving his wife Maria Fraietta in Guardavalle.

Domenico Ciancio manifest page 1

Speranza,
Looks like a great lead.

Perhaps the wife, Maria Fraietta has the missing g-grandmother's
surname (Amalia Bevilacqua's mother)?

Or, if Agaito Martinis & Amalia Bevilacqua didn't marry
until after 1911 (date of this manifest), then
Domenico Cianco & Maria Fraietta may be related to the
Martinis side somehow?

Thanks for pitching in, we've been stuck trying to find more
records (online)

vj,you are always surprising me with things. Yor are now bringing life to my childhood memories that I do have and experienced.I grew up in Cramer Hill and many times had to get dad out of the bars up and down the road.lol.My schools are listed and cresent bottling where we bought the best creme soda around.I remember him being a barber. I think mom said we have someone that is or was big in the church in Philadelphia who also was a Beviacqua.

Camden growing up was great but now it`s getto and murder capitol. How very sad. I still have my memories and thank you for refreshing them.

Helen, that looks like it was a great town to grow up in.
I really enjoyed the pictures on the website. Looks like
it's still a very active site!
If your mom is referring to Cardinal Bevilacqua, you
will find an awful lot about him on google
Valarie

He has quite a story...
"Anthony Joseph Cardinal Bevilacqua
Function:
Archbishop Emeritus of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
Title:
Cardinal Priest of SS Redentore e S Alfonso in via Merulana
Birthdate:
Jun 17, 1923 Country:
USA
Elevated:
Jun 28, 1991
"

" Bevilacqua grew up poor, the ninth of 11 children born
to Italian immigrants, in Queens, N.Y.
(His father was a mason, but couldn't find work in his trade,
so he worked in a patchwork of jobs.)
Inspired by a priest who was a German immigrant,
Bevilacqua went on to care deeply about immigrant
needs and rights "

probably a distant relation?
" His father, Luigi Bevilacqua, was born 12 April 1884
at Spinazzola, in Puglia near Bari;
his mother, Maria Giuseppina Codella, at Calitri,
in the province of Avellino "

I'm so sorry...
