I sent you the record. As you said, it probably isn't him but you never know if it can be useful to you another time.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Cianchetta Family
My g grandfather Loreto(1851-1917) who married Cesidia Maria Malvestuto had Lucia who travelled to Chicago. I did look on Ellis Island for her that was evidence that she belonged to this family.
Loreto's daughter is
First Name: Lucia
Last Name: Cianchetta
Ethnicity: Italian South
Last Place of Residence: Sulmona, Aquila
Date of Arrival: Dec 01, 1913
Age at Arrival: 21y Gender: F Marital Status: S
Ship of Travel: Berlin
Port of Departure: Naples
Where did she stay most of her years in America? Is there a census on her and her family before she returned to Italy? Is there a manifest of her travelling back to Sulmona?

Re: Cianchetta Family
How many years was Lucia in Chicago for? She missed the 1910 Census and if she was around in 19020 then she may be listed on that. If she went back to Italy prior to 1920 then we won't be able to place her on one.
Unfortunately, there are no records online of manifest showing her going back to Italy that I know of..

Re: Cianchetta Family
Did Lucia go by any other names? Do you know the names of her other children? When did her husband pass away? Do you know her husband parents names? Was he also from the same town? Did they marry in the US? All these little clues may help us place her.
Re: Cianchetta Family
Lucia Cianchetta married in USA I am not sure of his first name it could have been Tito Melone, they had 3 sons one I know of being Tonino Melone, who later came to Australia in the 1950's. Lucia when first travelled 1913, by the Ellis Island records she visited Domenico Cianchetta at 185 22 Street, Chicago Heights. Can you tell me who else lived with Domenico Cianchetta? He may be in the census It may be a clue who he is, it was certainly not Lucia's brother!
Re: Cianchetta Family
You really should look at the 1930 Census..3 families of Cianchetti's all living on the same street..Carmen, Dominic and Micheal. Heres the link.wldspirit wrote:Same family as above for the 1930 census:

About Lucia..thought you said she married someone called Primiero?
Re: Cianchetta Family
Thanks for the info Nuccia, much appreciated. I have to follow this up if there isn't any other Domenic Cianchetta.
As for Lucia Cianchetta she did marry(first name unknown it could be Tito) Primiero who had a son Tonino Primiero.
Sorry, I am getting confused with Angiolina Cianchetta who married a Melone unknown first name. My grandfather Carmine wrote his memoirs at very late age, he probably has confused himself. I am trying to get some proof of all his family. What is the best option

Re: Cianchetta Family
There is a document that shows an Antonio Primiero born May 25, 1916 in Chicago.
The document also showed the "Present Address" as Sulmona, occupation bricklayer.
Could this be the same Antonio you mention?
You had mentioned that he remained in Chicago, but this document shows that he had also lived in Sulmona.

I did check out Abruzzo Forum, but whoever wrote it in the first place cannot be contacted she may have changed email address. I tried to contact Domenic Cianchetta who tried answering her email has not had much success either and couldn't confirm anything with me because lack of information

I have another question Guiseppe and Concezio Cianchetta travelled to Argentina which proved that fact in "The Data Banks" where did they go after that?
Re: Cianchetta Family
Hi Elvia,
You are right, the date is 29 May 1916 and not May 25 as I posted. My error. It is the same document that you are talking about and can send you this to you.
Will reply to this post later.
Sent you a private message as well.

My grandfather Carmine Cianchetta had a sister Lucia who married a Primiero, I do not know his first name but she had 3 children, I know one son was Antonio (Tonino) who was born in Chicago but may have returned with his mother because she became a widow. Antonio later had come to Australia who now had died about 10 years ago. Are you related or do you know anything about the Cianchetta's
