hi im trying to get more info on my grandparents. seems like my dad was the youngest & he was to young to remember much about his parents i know their were 6 brothers , 2 sisters grand parents name silvestro caucci & maria campanelli thats about all the info i can give .anything i learn from others would be greatly appreciated also no known relatives livung in u.s.a. only in canada there are a few that remained in italy in the village of umito ,aqua-santa ascoli=piceno

I did locate a manifest for Silvestro, with the correct spelling of the last name....however, it would help to know the approximate time frame, any idea of birth year??

Can you province a province and year of birth for Silvestro and Maria? Did they come through Ellis or through Halifax? Approximately in what year?

Can you lists his brothers and sisters names? I agree with wldspirit..please..I know its difficult but try to be a bit more specific. Post anything you might remember..no matter how small. There could be a clue in there somewhere.

Remember, number one rule in researching your genealogy..start with yourself and work backwards...

well if it helps i also live in montreal i know some of the caucci families here but here is where it gets bizarre we kept the campanelli surname not the cauccis i also have first cousins in hamilton that i know of. the place of birth was umito aqua santa ascoli-piceno

The above was the manifest I was refering to......but we have to have some small detail to help confirm records.....not all Italians went directly to where we assume, but migrated from where they originally landed....

How about the childrens names.......can you give us any of those??
What year was your father born?? His name?? Mind you...anything we find is a matter of Public Record.....

okay here we go my fathers name .sabatino campanelli sisters maria &ida brothrs/ apollo/michelle/fortunato/luigi. they are all in montreal now .fortunato deceased,ida deceased, michelle deceased. they all came by plane rome /montreal direct

hi i just received some new information my grandfathers brothers &sisters names as follows filomena caucci, ernesta caucci, niccolina caucci,ridolla caucci, camillo caucci.mynonna family brothers &sisters nonna caterina campanelli,domenica campanelli, alessandro campanelli, shouri campanellii. my nonno did come visit early 1900's had cousins in u.s.a caucci

So then do you think the manifest above could be his? When I was searching through the records on ancestry it seems that most of the persons with the surnames you have ended up in Pennsylvannia..Maybe we can narrow it down.

When did your family come to Canada? Records after 1957 are difficult to find....
