Dazzi/Picchi from Barga, near Lucca, Tuscany, Italy

Post by MichaelSerchio »

Hi,

My great-grandfather lived in Glasgow, Scotland.

Although he was known by the name Peter Dastey, he was born Pietro Dazzi in Barga around 1979.

His parents were Giovanni Dazzi and Libania Picchi.

Pietro had a brother Alfredo and may have had a sister Miranda.

If anyone has any information or knows where I can look for more details, please let me know!

Thanks,
Michael

Yes, that's him. Thank you.

I have quite a lot of info once he came to Scotland but very little from Italy. In fact, all I know are the names of his parents. I'm looking for his date and place of birth (which I think is Barga), confirmation he had a sister Miranda and any other siblings that may not have moved to Scotland.

Have you considered ordering microfilms from the local Family History Center in your area and trying to obtain his birth act? It will list his parents names and confirm birth info. Then you would just just to go through films of various years to see if anything matches up.

I believe the link to the films is as follows..

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... umns=*,0,0

Of course, you could always write away to Italy for the info as well.

Dear Michael, I have been searching for my grandfather Pietro Dazzi and was surprised to come across your posting on this site.
I live in Canada and have looked in the Scotlands People web site and found some info the you might find interesting. Hopefully we can connect by e-mail and share information regarding our ancestors.
Best regards,

Hi,

I have sent your a private message with my email address.

I have found quite a lot of information since I made that post. I even discovered some documents when I visited Diecimo in Italy so I would love to share with you what I have.
