Excuse me.....you have evidently mistaken my reply........in trying to be brief and to the point, I did not write out in full the many reasons US research is vital when you have nothing more than a name, no town of birth, or any clue as to who the immigrant ancestors parents were.
We deal with these types of inquiries on a daily basis and sometimes we give a standard answer until dialogue is opened up between the original poster and the great members here at ItalianGenealogy, who volunteer their time for the love of genealogy.

Our membership consist of Professional genealogist, both in US and Italy,
volunteers at the FHC, teachers at the FHC, members who film the parish records in Italy, members who have traced their lines as far back as the 1500's, and many who are more than capable at transcribing records.
We do not lack for experience or knowledge in the area of Italian genealogy, history or culture.

All members are valued at this site, from the newbie to the more experienced.......given your vast knowledge.....we look forward to your participation.

Poor Brittany, divster 13, and the DiVittori(o)'s got lost in the shuffle. We have English, American, and Sicilian. More info from Brittanyand divster will help connect the dots.

I agree........I would suggest starting a new topic and provide as much information as possible on the surname/family of interest.

We have great members here who are always willing to help posters
achieve their family research goals.
