Looking for GreatGrandparents

Post by terrak »

I am looking for my Great Grandfather Salvatore Andreotti, born May 6, 1881 in or around Napoli. I am also looking for his wife, my greatgrandmother Genarosa Marcelli. She is from a small town just outside of Napoli, but I don't know which town. If anyone has any information or ideas where I can look, it would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my gosh! That is the right one. Louisa is my maternal grandmother. I have been interested in finding out as much as I can about my Italian history. Anything you can add would be wonderful!

1929 Ship manifest for Salvatore Andreotti with naturalization information, line 10. Salvatore must have returned to Italy by himself for some reason.

Biff83,

Thank you for your help. I am just starting out in this and don't really know where to go from here. Noone has ever mentioned him returning to Italy in 1929. Perhaps for a funeral? I wish I had more information to go on so that I could find out more. My mother has said that the rest of our family were nuns in the church in Napoli and probably dead and gone by now. But I still have hope that I can find something out. Any ideas?

Terra,

We'll see what else we can find on your family. Your GGparents' ship manifests might help locate where they were born as might their naturalization papers.
