requesting a family ceritifcate

I have already requested and received one family certificate and now I would like to request a second that goes back further in the family. I also would like to request a family certificate for my great grandmother's family. Should I send them seperately (same Town), should I wait between requests or can I send them together with extra IRC's.

I requested all at one time and recieved: 2 Family certificates, 6 birth, 2 marriage and two death from one place. I was quite surprised to recieve so many docs at one time. It was the first time I had seen a family certificate and now realize that I did not need all those other docs, ( some redundancy ). AND I sent my request via E-Mail ! Afterwards, I e-mailed other communes for Fam. Certs on other ancestors. Some of them just sent the info via e-mail back to me, no certificate, just the info, which was fine with me.

Sure, I recommend writing in both Italian and english, in case your italian is not that good, In Tyrol, I also sent german. I used Google translate to help me with that. making a Family certificate is a lot of work and I think I am very lucky to have recieved the ones I got. I will provide a couple of examples to you as to what I wrote and where.

I knew approximate years these people were born, but obviously did not know the names of all the siblings. When I asked for all these docs, I also visited the nearest LDS Family History center. There I requested microfilm from the parish in the same towns I wrote e-mails to. I did not know that I would recieve word back as fast as I did. So, when they called me to tell me that my microfilm was in, I went there to view it. I very much reccomend doing this also, it is very intriguing. I will start another topic about this, because I have a question to post about some of the info on the document.

Be aware that some communes charge for this information. In Sarno, their website has instructions on how to order one, but it is several Euros for each name that they find.

Thanks for the info. When I requested my first family certificate from Vodo Cadore I used the form letters from the web site
http://anzwers.org/free/italiangen/index
they have a few form letters in Italian and translated in English, therefore you just put in the names and information. I also sent 2 International Reply Coupons ($1.85) from the post office and a picture id and a self-addressed envelope. I received the family certificate within a month. Now Vodo Cadore is a small town. I did not send any money. If they want money they will request it later. I am now going to send a second request so that I can find out my great grandfathe's siblings and one for my great grandmother's family. You can also get form letters from the book Itlian Genealogical Records byTrafford Cole. I think that Steven Morse sight may have some. Good Luck!

In Italian and English, I tell them what I am looking for and I ask them in the same e-mail, that if they don't have what I need, if they can provide the e-mail address or street address that does.
