Looking for Fassino from Torino or Turin Italy

I am looking for any information on the Fassino family from Torino or Turin Italy. My last find is my great great grandfather Anton Fassino who was born in Turin and married Catherine Bruno who was also born in Turin on October 20, 1865. I only know of one son born to this couple, Matthew A. Fassino born October 20, 1889 in Italy. Any information would be most helpful. Thank you!

Send an e-mail to atti giudiziari@comune.torino.it and reqest "oggetto un Certificato di Stato di Famiglia Storico for Anton Fassino with his date or year of birth. This will give you all the members of his immediate family and covers, births,marriages and deaths as well. You can also request brith records or marriage records. You might also wish to request the address for the Ufficio di Stato Civile for the city of Torino at URP@comuni.Torino.it should they not give you a favorable response and there you can also request documents. If you are seeking relatives in the city of Torino you can go to www.paginebianche.it and insert Fasssino in the first line and Torino in the third line and click CERCA for 43 Fassino by name,address and telephone number there. Should you mean the province of Torino and not the city of Torino then that is another story!!!! If this is a matter for a small town in the province of Torino you will need the name of the small town since all records are in the town or city of origin in Italy. Peter

my e-mail was returned as undeliverable. do you know anything about searching Locana Parish records (in Locana, Torino, Italy)? I found someone who posted his geneology and had some of the same given names in Torino with the surname Fassino. Thought I might try to check it out.

I know I am being elementary, but I guess you have to start somewhere.

There are two parish churches with resident priests in each. Go to www.paginebianche.it and insert the word Parrocchia in the first line and Locana in the third line and click CERCA for the name,address and telephone number of the churches. Peter

I'm writing this note because I may help with Locana records (that's the area of Piedmont where I live), but if the link you found is only in the given names, I guess you're on a wrong way. Italians are very traditional in first names: there's a wide number of them, but there are some which are very common and you may find them quite in each family all over the country.
Moreover, Fassino is not a typical surname in Locana: it's properly a surname of the city of Turin. So, my suggestion is to follow the direction Peter showed you.
I can only add that there is a very famous Fassino nowadays in Italy: Piero Fassino is the leader of the principal opposition party in Italy, the left-wing "Democratici di Sinistra" (or DS).
