Genealogist recommendation needed

Post by phillybilly »

Hello All
I'm sorry if this subject has been posted already but I couldn't find anything. I'm looking for a genealogist to research my Italian roots. My grandfather Giuliano Cristinzio & grandmother Francesca Tartaglione emigrated from Monteroduni in Molise in the early 1900's. Thanks for any help.

Congrats!

You are about to step forward and become a genealogist! The records of most of the communities in Molise are on microfilm. You can go to www.familysearch.org and do a library search for Monteroduni. Then you can see what films to rent. Your Giuliano appears to have been born about 1875 and Francesca about 1885.

This will be a start:

You can do this........and you will learn so much more this way.

If you do need help, suanj on this site lives in Molise, I believe. She is wonderful...and very helpful...check her out.

Good Luck... (sorry to run but must pick up my daughter from school)

Good find, Elizabeth. His wife is on the line following his name! Definately the correct one. Did see earlier, an arrival in 1948 of both of them. So apparently went on a trip late in their lives.

1921 Ship manifest for Giuliano Cristinzio Line 17

Page 2

It appears that Giuliano and Francesca returned to Italy after 1902, possibly about 1906, since the manifest shows Giuliano's nearest relative as Francesca in Italy. I also located the 1948 manifest Essgee referenced previously for Giuliano and Francesca. There should be another manifest for Francesca between 1921 and 1930.

Hello Elizabeth. Great find on Francesca's manifest.

Really neat since it also has Francesca and Giuliano's children travelling with her as well as Francesca's father's name, Carmine. Naturalization notations as well for Francesca. There's also a detainee list for the family.

I have TARTAGLIONE in my tree but haven't done enough yet to know if we'd connect.

My ancestor is Guiseppe Tartaglione born 1875 Caserta, Italy. He was a coal dealer. He came over in 1908 and settled in the New Haven CT area.

My website I am working on is below if you want to check it out and sign my guest book.
