Re: US (issued) Passport Applications
The link to search for UK naturalisation papers is National Archives
Put the surname in the 'word/phrase' box and 'HO' in the 'Dept/Series Code' box. Any naturalisation papers between 1879 -1934 will be brought up. Because of the 100-year rule, papers after about 1905, though, are not normally accesible except by special request to TNA. I don't know how difficult it is to get permission as I haven't tried it.

Re: US (issued) Passport Applications
I just tried the link for Risi surname and it brought up five, including two of my relatives from Hull.
You could try Nat. Archiveshome page; click 'search the archives' on red bar at top and 'the catalogue' on drop down box. Clicking 'search the catalogue' brings you back to the same page; maybe that will work.

Re: US (issued) Passport Applications
Thanks Paul I think there is something wrong with my computer it wont even let me open up the links now. j when I try to open the links it just keeps blipping - same sound as when its blocking a pop- up I cant get access to gmail or hotmail either also any of the web sites that I've registered with when I try to fill in my user name and password it's coming up 'cant find server' but so far I can still log into forums . Just have no idea what I've done bet its something really simple too but at the moment I'm stressed out with this.
Maybe if I sit Gizzy at the keyboard he'll fix it for me
