Re: addresses for sarno & montecorvino di ravello
Go to www,mangeruca.com for italian form letters for documents. The addresses for each town are Uffico di Stato Civile, comune di (Sarno/Montecorvino Rovella), Postale 84087 and 84096, Provincia Salerno, Campania region, Italy.
The service is free and the wait is about 6-8 weeks. You might want to consider sending $5.00-10.00 (us$=75cents in Italy) in cash, postal coupons or nothing. Your cdfecision. =Peter=

Hi, Steve,
I have done some family research in Sarno, and there are no films. You have to write to the Comune. Here are relevant e-mails and contacts from Sarno's website:
http://www.comune.sarno.sa.it/menu_di_s ... emografici
I have usually sent a self-addressed envelope as a courtesy, a photocopy of my driver's license, and a request in Italian. Send no money to Sarno. They have always been very quick to respond. Sometimes they use my envelope and sometimes they do not. However, be sure to request the correct birth year. If you are one year off, they will send you a kind reply that no document was found.
Have you done other Sarno research? Just curious.

Re: addresses for sarno & montecorvino di ravello
I am doing research on the family of Enrico Annunziata born in Sarno in 1879. I know he had a sister Amalia. He married Angelina Marrone, Marzone, or Mazzone in March 1908 and then emigrated to the US in April 1908. Will the Sarno office give me info on his mother, father and other siblings? Thanks

If you ask for a birth act="Estratto di nascita per copia integrale" you will get info on his father.
After you get the above info you may ask for a "certificato storico di famiglia" related to his father and this act will contain all the siblings.
Getting the birth act is free of charge, while the certificato storico di famiglia will have a cost. You should ask the municipality how much it will cost.

Thanks so much for the info. I will give it a try. I know his mother's name. Do I have to have his father's name to get the family certificate or can I get it with only the mother's name? Thanks, Pat
