Fiume (now Rijeka)

My grandparents were born in Fiume (now Rijeka in modern day Croatia) and I'm currently trying to track down their birth certificates.

Does anyone have any experience locating documents from regions no longer part of Italy?

LDS does have films but it depends on the year of birth.

My grandfather's DOB: 29 June 1927.
Grandmother's DOB: 15 July 1930.

The films go to 1912 and another set to 1918, I'm sorry. Maybe one of the genealogists on the site can tell you where you need to write to in order to obtain the records. Be patient and I'm sure one of them will answer you soon.
