Looking for family from Sulmona

Post by marilyn65 »

I am looking for information on family name Pallozzi from Sulmona Italy. My grandparents came from there. Grandfather's name was Alfredo Pallozzi, great grandfather's name was Raffaele and great great grandfather's name was Nicola. Any information would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Marilyn

Wow VJ this is great thanks a million. I never knew he had any realitives here. I am sure this is my grandfather as he did come into this country by way of Boston. He then went to Watervliet NY. I tried
How did you find this? I would need help with research on my family from Italy. The only other realitives I know of here in the states is an uncle living upstate in NY. I tried asking him questions several years ago about his parents and he didn't know much as they died when he was young.

Marilyn,
about your records in Italy:

It appears the Family History Library has a collection of records
from Sulmona on microfilm.
You can order these for a small monthly fee for viewing at
your local Family History Center.

Since the Civil Records only go thru 1865, you may be able
to locate Raffaele & his father Nicolo.
Having their approx birth dates & spouses maiden names would
insure that you had the correct family records…

Italy, L'Aquila, Sulmona

Thank you VJ for the information about the Family History Center. I have looked there in the past but unfortunately I have a problem trying to read the information. When ever I try to look at the information it makes me extreamly sick. I think it has something to do with my motion sickness.

I was wondering could you make out the name of my grandfather's uncle on the ship's manifest as I could not make it out.

I have some information about Raffaele & his father Nicola. I am now trying to find out who Nicola's parents were and also any of their sibblings.

I wish I knew who this Aburock was, since he/she sent in the corrections on the Pallozzi spelling, and how I could get in touch with that person.

Good morning Valarie and Marilyn, and Buon San Valentino!

I also believe the uncle's name on the manifest VJ posted is:
Vincenzo Marinucci

Thank you Biff and Valerie for all of this great information. According to my grandmother's death certificate her mother's maiden name was Marinucci. So this could have been my grandmother's uncle.

Wow, this is so exciting. I guess now I need to see if I can find any Marinucci realitives still living in this country, as well as Italy.

Marilyn,
I heard back from 'aburock' - Amy
I don't think she'd mind:
Hi there -- I was researching the Pallozzi family for my friend, Lori.
Lori's mom's dad was a Pallozzi. I did the research a while ago --
I can't recall if her dad was Ralph.
I just left Lori a message to ask her.
I'd be happy to join the genealogy forum, but is there something
specific that you'd like me to address there?
Thanks, Amy
I did send Amy a note back thanking her & inviting her to join in!
