Requesting Military Records?

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Here is a link with the e-mail address for the Torino state archives. Write to them in Italian with the birth date and town of your ancestor. Give them your mailing address as well and ask if there is a charge for the document and if so, how to pay.
