Difficulty reading old passport. Need some help.

Post by miller1969 »

The name is barely legible but says ANNA RIZZO.

I can tell she's the daughter of Domenic. What I can't read is the next line and what it means. Can someone help?

Figlio means child of the next line should be the mother's name. I see it as fu (which means deceased or the late) MARINO, FRANCESCA

This helps more than y'all know!

Thanks so much!

Debbie

Edited to add: Forgot to ask. How can you determine when the passport was applied for? I don't see a date anywhere on it. What I posted here was the front part only but the other portions look blank.

Where it says
"rilasciato il - Magg Mille ???? Issued in May(?) One thousand .....
is the date of issue... it's not very clear, but that is cut off in the scan - sorry!

Chris, someone in our family has the original. That particular person was the son of my grandfather's half-brother. Family says that Anna Rizzo was not the mother of the person holding the passport (almost hostage) and no direct family member knows where it is now. That "half-nephew" has passed away.

Edmondo, I'd love to see your pictures! Do you have them online somehwere? Would you share the link?

You can find the pictures by following the Photo Album link from the left menu or go directly to the Salerno album here

I have been in both places but the pictures are not made by me. I have been in almost all places in the Cilento area.

When I am in Italy for vacations I am always based in Valle dell'Angelo.
Rizzo is a very common name in the area.

1860 was the birth date... that was established earlier in the thread. What was sought was the date the passport was issued. This was 'May..... but the year is 'out if shot'.
