Could someone translate the following letter for me?
[hr]
To whom it may concern:
I would be very grateful if you could mail me two certified copies of my great-grandfather's birth certificate. Attached to this letter is an uncertified copy for your reference.
Sincerely,
====

Ehm, in Italy doesn't exist a "certified copy of a birth certificate". Exist only a birth certificate (which is a document released by town hall) or a copy of the birth act (this means a full copy of the registration).

Re: letter translation
The "atto di nascita" (birth act) can be requested either of two ways, either as an "estratto" (extract) or as a "copia integrale" (a full copy). They are both authenticated with the official stamp of the "Stato Civile" of the comune.
The extract is sufficient for the purposes of dual citizenship, but the full copy, also good for that purpose, contains significantly more information, such as the address and the professions of the parents, the age of the declarant (usually the father), and the names, ages, and professions of the two witnesses.
I got both but will use only the extract for claiming citizenship.
