Could these possible siblings of Vincenzo? I can't read the handwriting hardly at all and you seem to be doing a wonderful job of it...

Campiglia Laurenza

The Laurenzas listed with Campiglia are all siblings...kids of Guiseppe? My great aunts name is Campiglia and this listing is from Caivano so I believe this is a name that runs in the family. Can you tell how it's tied in if at all?
Giovanni Laurenza-possible brother of Vincenzo?

The writing is so ahrd to decipher! Basically any siblings of Alessandra or Vincenzo you can discover would be amazing!

Laura, you are truely amazing! If you are still in Italy when I come visit, I hope to meet you! Should I request this form in Italian or English? I have a good friend of mine from Italy who can fill the form out for me if necessary...for faster processing? She has a boyfriend here and is studying just so she can stay in the US with him even though she has a degree from Italy. I have family still in italy whom my uncle went and visited with. My family lives in New York and I grew up in Seattle...very far apart...with my mom. I visit once per year or so but my family and I are not very close. We enjoy our company when we're together but don't keep in touch much else of the year. But I love Italy and everything Italian and have always wanted to go since I was a little girl so it's exciting to learn the history of how they came here.pink67 wrote:I'm doing this for hobby, genealogy is of great interest for me....
I'm in Italy so I don't know if I can help to point you in the right directions to request documents in USA, but I can sure advise you to request first the marriage certificate, you have the number and all the dates you need.
Here is the link to the form:
http://www.italiangen.org/ny_marriage_application.htm
And, as you know the exact birth date and place for Vincenzo Laurenza you should request his "estratto dell'atto di Nascita" to the Caivano Comune:
Comune Caivano
Stato Civile
Via Don Minzoni, 1
80023 Caivano (NA)
I'm searching now for a form to request this certificate...
Laura
My mom has all the records from her side of the family that one day I'll go through and do a family tree with. Do you know of the best programs for that or places where I can print them off once they are done?

This is the enlistment for the Second World War for Pietrantonio Russo ...
U.S. World War II Draft Registration Cards, 1942
about Pietrantonio Russo
Name: Pietrantonio Russo
Birth Date: 24 Oct 1880
RESIDENCE: New York, New York
Birth: Caivano, Italy
Race: White
Roll: WW2_2368854
[img=http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/2365/r ... qm2.th.jpg]
Look at his address: 50 Oliver Street New York.... the same address Ferdinando (Vincenzo's son) and Giuseppe (Vincenzo's brother) gave at their arrival in 1909.....
Pietrantonio declared his wife Mariantonia as nearest relative...
So, if Pietrantonio was Vincenzo's and Giuseppe's brother in law possible his wife was their sister?

I think this is right on. I can almost positively remember an Aunt Helen and I think Aunt Mary. They may still be alive. So is Joseph the same as Guiseppe just the Americanized version of the name or are they two different siblings?

Re: Last name Laurenzo and Favicchio
Joseph is the americanized version of the italian first name Giuseppe... and sure it's Vincenzo's brother because it matches also his wife first name Caroline/Carolina...

Giovanni Faicchio...is this related to Alessandra? I think it says joining a cousin Russo. Alessandra married Vincenzo and Vincenzo's sister Mariantonia married a Russo...it show s a different address but this is before Alessandra came. Is it a possibility?

Re: Last name Laurenzo and Favicchio
Hi there!! My Name is Kathie. My great great grandfather is Ferdinando DiLorenzo. from Roccaromano, Caserta, Campania (near Napoli). he was born in 1848.
you have to remember the names changed often. your Laurenzo could also be Lorenzo, DiLorenzo, Laurence, Lawrence, DiLaurentis...and really it's all the same.
I've been searching for Fred's brother's and sisters...to track down his parents...it's taken me a year to get what information i did get...and most of it came from bits and pieces of memory from my great aunt Mary, who is 86...and the memory is spotty at best. the rest i tracked down through records. but...i've also found a whole boat load of family i never knew i had.
if you'd like more information...my family came here at the turn of last century and mostly settled in rochester...but Fred had a brother Anthony in Genessee Falls in NY who married a Catherine. Also had a sister who was staying with them ...who's name i'm unsure of. he had a few other siblings too...names i'm just not sure of. the DiLorenzo clan in NYS is HUGE...and apparently...we are all related...or so i've been told...i'm still trying to put together everyone's connections. email me at fredoniapeaches@yahoo.com and i'll send you a link to my ancestry page if you think it will help you.

Re: Last name Laurenzo and Favicchio
I'm sure we are all related. My family settled in Mechanicville but started in NYC. There is a huge listing for people in Saratoga and Schenectedy....extremely close to where they settled. I have a hard time believing that would be coincidence? I'm trying to get in contact with more family and even get in contact with the family in Italy. My uncle went to visit them last year so I'm super curious to get the details from them...which I'm sure they have much more of! I sent you an email. Let's definitely exchange trees!
Re: Last name Laurenzo and Favicchio
I am Brenda Laurenzo Riley, and Giuseppe Laurenzo is my great grandfather. His son, Ferdinand (Fred) is my grandpa. I live near my great Aunt Helen, and we all recently had a reunion in Scotia. Uncle Abe is the only male still living, but most of the sisters are still alive.
Re: Last name Laurenzo and Favicchio
My inlaws lived in the Albany area. If you go to my web site and then click on the words WorldConnect Project, then enter Laurenzo, you can see my information.

Re: Last name Laurenzo and Favicchio
Hey Stu,
I saw your website. I'm trying to figure out you might be tied to our family. My whole family is from Mechanicville area. I've been asking my cousin who knows that side of the family much more than I do. Who are some of the more recent ties that would still be alive so I can have her ask the rest of our family? I don't know them all that well so it's been more difficult for me to find out.
