I am looking for information about my grandparents, specifically there birth certificates. They were both born in Ventimiglia di Sicily in the late 1800's and came to New York in 1899. I am looking to extend my family tree back beyond my grandparents as a gift for my grandchildren.
Unfortunately due to my poor health and age I am not able to visit archive centers like the Mormon sites. Most of my research has been done from home by the internet and mail with help from some friends.
Any help, ideas or insights would be greatly appreciated.
My grandfather - Michelangelo Cassata - b. 4/16/1875 came to USA 8/17/1899.
My grandmother - Maria Gracia Lamantia - b. 1/19/1880 came to USA 6/8/1899.
Ive located their passenger records and naturalization records but they have no documentation on their parents names.
Thanks.

Thanks for the information. I will give it a shot.

If you are willing to spend some money, Ancestry.com has a somewhat new service (Expert Connect) by which you can pay someone to do the research you need, which in your case is easy to do, because you have the location and the date.
