If you are looking for passport of Italian ancestor.....

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

If you are looking for passport of Italian ancestor.....

Post by ricbru »

Hello,
after a little research in the lists of the all local italian state archives (Archivio di Stato), you can try to find the application for passport of your ancestor or the real passport. There are records about issueing italian passport from 1600's to 1900's
Only if your ancestor was born in one of the provinces below:

Cagliari-Firenze-Livorno-Milano-Modena-Napoli-Palermo-Parma-Pescara-Pistoia-Ravenna-Roma-Rovigo-Savona-Siena-Teramo-Torino-Trapani
Trento-Treviso-Udine-Venezia-Vercelli

I hope it helps
bye Riccardo

Hi Riccardo,
I am having a terrible time trying to find my ggf Guiseppe Amendola
who first mention of being in Australia is in 1888 but apparently left Sicily and met my GGM in Spain and then settled in Australia. Any ideas?

Venice, can you please be more detailed.
Sicily has 9 provinces and more than 400 municipalities.
Where was he resident? Where was he born?
As u can see only Trapani and Palermo State archive have papers about passports
please reply
bye Riccardo

I sent a request to OZ for any record for Giuseppe Amendola and his Spanish national spouse which may take 30 days since I had no specific information but they did advise me to send an e-mail to ref@naa.gov.au should I have any additional information subsequent to this Octo ber 12 request. =Peter=

Ciao io ho la necessità di trovare il passaporto rilasciato nel comune di Cellino Attanasio (TE) a Giuseppe Ercolani. E' partito per l'America nel 1912. Ho speranze di trovarlo? Ma soprattutto erano già con foto?

Grazie

Hi Riccardo,

I APOLOGISE FOR NOT BEING TOO SPECIFIC BUT I AM DEALING WITH FAMILY MEMBERS CONFLICTING STORIES AND AS I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO ITALY I AM CONFUSED MYSELF.

AS TO WHICH PART OF SICILY ,RELATIVES ARE UNABLE TO TELL ME, BUT NOW MY FATHER TELLS ME HE THOUGHT HIS GRANDFATHER WAS FROM NAPLES.I DO KNOW THAT HE WAS A FISHERMAN AND THAT HE WAS PROBABLY BORN AROUND 1880 AS HE DIED 1949 IN VICTORIA AUST.
AS FAR AS THE WOMAN THAT HE MARRIED I AGAIN FOUND CONFLICTING INFORMATION ON THE GRAVE SITES ,SHE HAS BEEN LISTED AS ROSE SALTER AND ROSE ESPOSITO AND AS THEY HAD 13 CHILDREN IT CHANGES FROM SITE TO SITE.
tHANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME AND EFFORTS
