microfilm's copy

Hi guys, I am writing a book on some Italian families , I'm using the "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" microfilms and I found nearly one thousand people in there, now here the problem: to search more deeply and eventually show the certificates I must have a copy of the microfilms, unfortunately the Church doesn't sell any copy. Any idea where to buy them?

To make a copy you have to get the microfilms before, and I think the church is not going to give them to you...
Ask them if there is any way to get that information online by the internet or something like that. If not, I think you will have to keep going to the church..

I can borrow them without any problem but I have to use them in their place where there are not scanner to make copies and, btw, it would be too long job scanning all those microfilms...

It's a very simple thing to print out records as you find them online. Presumably, it's also quite simple to print a copy in situ.

Well, if they give the microfilms to you, you can ask in a cinema store, picture store, or something like that in your city. They should know where to make a copy of a microfilm.
I´ve never saw that, but It should be possible I think.

Hi anjgi, the problem I have to print a microfilm! and when I can access it I need hours and hours, checking my references came back rechecking etc...

I can't take the microfilm out of the centre...

Even if you get copies from the State archives (which is where the LDS got theirs) you need their permission to publish them.

Dubito che possano esserci problemi di diritti d'autore, infatti i documenti sono ben oltre i settanta anni dalla morte dell'autore, e per giunta disponibili presso i comuni, il mio problema e' di averne copia digitale per poter studiarli con calma (cosa non possibile nelle poche ore in cui sono aperti i centri). Sto studiando i rami collaterali dei miei avi e non e' possibile pagare uno specialista per seguirli, sarebbe troppo costoso....

L'unica alternativa sarebbe recarsi personalmente nei vari comuni e parrocchie ma abitando in UK e' abbastanza complicata... grazie dell'avviso.

The LDS definitely will not give out the films and yes, it takes hours and hours to scan each record to put them on line. As long as you site the source, and they are for personal research and are for a non profit site, the LDS should not give you a hard time about copying the records. But check with your FHC director first.

Besides, eventually the LDS will be putting all the records online anyways from my understanding. At least, this is the rumor.

I had no problems at the center I went to. Their copier was down but I was able to take pictures without any issues.

I know that they are very kind and helpful, but what I was asking is if there is any chance to get a full copy of them to research better the data... I think only the "comuni" could give a full copy of them but at the moment because I'm living in England I could not be able to ask...
