Names of Parish Churches

Post by pascalena »

Is there a web site to find out what Catholic Churches are in the comune of my ancestors? Also does anyone know the meaning of the surnames Gallé and Bertucci? These are surnames from Spadola, Italy in the province of Vibo Valencia. Thanks.

The Galle and Bertucci are both derived from Galli and Berti (Gallus 8th century) and Berti (Bertus 7th century) The Galli and Berti are the base names from which all other veriations, derivations and alternations of the names that exist in Italy with both havcing French, langobard roots. Peter

You search by GOOGLE in taping "parrocchia di Spadola" or you write
to:

Palazzo Vescovile di MILETO

Via Episcopio, 5

89952 MILETO (Vibo Valentia

You explain your problem to the Curia of Mileto.
Or you can find the adress by GOOGLE.

Good Luck

Dear Gig the inquirer asked for the church in his town of origin so why are you censidng him to grandmas house when that information was aklready provided directly to the townof Spadola?? And why do you presume the curate in Spoleto would have any interest in doing you a "favor". Whether you are aware of it or not, usually the letter should be written in Italian language and your casual advice is almost genealogy 101. This is not that kind of forum but merry christmas. Peter

There are two churches in Spadola, practically side by side on the hill. I do not know the names for certain, but one might be La Madonna della Concezione Immacolata.
