Galli/Quilici/Sighieri -

Post by judd »

Another year later and still looking for Lorenzo Daniele Giovanni Galli.

Lorenzo Daniele was born May 28, 1881 in Saltocchio, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. Son of Alessio Galli and Annunziata Quilici
He married Margherita Maria Elisa Sighieri from Pico, Pisano on Sept. 5, 1914 in Saltocchio.
Anyone have any information of the Sighieri family from Pico, Pisano?
Thank you.

Judd,

I know that you have posted previously on this subject. So we don't duplicate research already done, can you update us on your findings?

Do you know for sure that Lorenzo did not immigrate? Have you contacted Saltocchio for death records or notations about his movements in Italy? How about military records? His marriage is smack in the middle of WWI, that might be a reason you are having difficulty finding him.

dear Judd write to the Ufficio di Anagrafe (census office) in Saltocchio and ask them for any record of his departure or return dates from and to the town.

Go to www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwisdom/saviello2.html so that you can request both his Residency certificate(s), Certificato di Residenza. his certificate of family status Certificato di stato di famiglia originaria from the comune of Satocchio (www.nonsolocap.it and click on name for municipio address).

Further you can write to the Archivio di Stato at the provincial capital and ask for the record of his Registri degli uffici di leva.

The correct spelling of Pico, Pisano could be "Vicopisano", it's a comune in the province of Pisa.

Saltocchio should be a frazione of comune of Lucca.
