Looking for my family in Bolivia
Looking for my family in Bolivia
Hi to everybody!
I'm new here.
My name is Miriam and i came from Italy.
I'd like an help, because i'm looking for my relatives in Bolivia.
In 1924 (i don't know exactly) Nicola Sanitate went to Bolivia leaving his family in Italy. He came from Potenza, in the region called Basilicata.
He lived in a place called Oruro and he had a work in La Paz, an inport-export business.
Unfortunatly he couldn't came back in Italy and he died in Bolivia in 60's.
He is buried there, but i don't know in which city.
With him there was also his brother, called Di Lillo, who never came back.
I would like to know where Nicola Sanitate was buried and if any Di Lillo are now there.
Thanx

Re: Looking for my family in Bolivia
Dear Miriam I had to send off a message to the Bolivia telephone company in Spanish since they need a first name for the brother Di Lillo to check their GUIA TELEFONICA and even f I put in a false first name it will come out negative so I need his first name to check. I also asked them to check for Sanitate surname since even here you need a first name since Nicola is deceased and there is apparently noone in Bolivia named Nicola Sanitate.
As soon as I hear I will let you know. =Peter=

Thank you for reply me so fast!
I know, you need Di Lillo's first name. Tomorrow i'll write a post with it.
Sure, i think also Di Lillo died some years ago. But the question is: there is a way to know where Nicola Sanitate was buried? Maybe asking to Oruro institution...?
Thank you very much,
that's very important for me.

Re: Looking for my family in Bolivia
Dear Peter,
ORURO is not in Italy.
Oruro is the region in Bolivia where my relative Nicola Sanitate lived when he was there. As i don't know where he died, maybe now he is buried there.

Re: Looking for my family in Bolivia
Dear Val and Mimaya I stand corrected for thinking Italy instead of Bolivia for Oruro which I now know is a depratment of Bolivia. Mimaya I think you can write inspanish to the Registro C ivil, Depto Oruruo, Bolivia and request a death record for Nicola Sanitate and see what response you get. Thanks Val and please get back to me Mimaya with any information. =Peter=

Hi Mimaya
Here is a link to a Bolivian genealogy forum.
http://genforum.genealogy.com/bolivia/
Someone there may be able to tell you what churches to contact in Oruro.
Regards,
Elizabeth

Re: Looking for my family in Bolivia
Dear Elizabth you are bright! It never occured to me to venture forth to another forum to ask about churches for this forum...good show!!
Dear Mimaya the website for the registro civil in Depto oruro is www.cne.org.bo/registro civil/consulta/frmoficialias.aspx but it lists different cities in Oruro and we would have to know where they died in order to obtaintheir certificate of death unless I missed something inthe spanish language of the website.
=Between Elizabth, you and I, we will discover Bolivia!! =Peter=

Re: Looking for my family in Bolivia
My friends!
Thanx a lot to everybody!
I'll try to see the website and search what i need.
But i have some news, maybe important.
Yesterday i went to the website of "Paginas Amarillas", la guia telefonica of Bolivia.
www.amarillas.entel.bo/bblancas.php
If you search "Di Lillo" you can find some names,
for example Dilillo Doria Medina Ana Maria or
Dilillo Doria Medina Francisco
I made a research for Francisco and i found a website with his curriculum and it seams that he was born in Oruro in 1956.
I wrote him an email and now i'm waiting for a reply.
The second thing i want you to know
is the name of Di Lillo who came in Bolivia.
It's Francesco.
If you need other informations ask me.
Bye
