Is Antonio Crivello's place of origin the city of Palermo or some town or village inthe Province of Palermo? This distinction is vital.? =Peter=

Welcome to IG!!

Are you looking for Italian records or American records?
What have you obtained so far in way of research? Did they immigrate? To which state?

There is/was a Taormina family living in Monaca PA (Beaver County-- Western Pennsylvania) while I was growing up. They ran a neighborhood grocery store and a few years ago the store was still there.

I don't know anything about their origins, though, but it is a place where the name is known.

Antonio was born in Capaci I think. His son Antonio was born in Capaci in 1879. I do not know if they went to the US. I know thein son Antonio went to California and died in Stockton, California in 1872.
Antonio's father was Antonio also I think Rosa's father was Giovanni Taormina.
Thank you,
Renee

The records for Capaci (PA) go from 1809-1904 whichare oln micorfilm at your nearest Mormon FHlibrary (www.familysearch.org for location and costs about $5.00) Bring along book Discovering your Italian Ancestors by LynnNelson and a magnifying nglass to examine the handwritten records.

If you wish you can write to Capaci and obtain the birth records for Antonio capaci and his family and his wife requesting Estratti di Nascita for both. You might alo wish to request a Certificato di Stato di Famiglia for both sides of the family if you \know the father's name in each case. Go to www.nonsolocap.it andf put in Capaci and then click on Capaci and a website will come up and then scrolll down to ehre it says Municipio and send form letter in Italian for documents
Go to http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... tters.html =Peter=

Providing you with a link to another site, this is an interactive form letter,
very simple to use. For a birth extract you want the stato di civile,
if you are interested in a state of the family certificate, you choose the letter to the anagrafe.

Form letter

Thank you both for your help. It is difficult for me as I am disabled and in a wheelchair and have limited money. There is no family hitory library near me as I live in a very small town. and I do not have the extra funds to go to one or order anything.
Thank you again for your kindness.
