Go to www.paghinebianche.it and insert Someo in the first line and Cassino in the third line and click cerca for any possible relatives. If you have his birth date or year then you can write to the Ufficio di Stato Civile in Cassino and ask for a birth record but since you don\'t specify wjhat your research objectives are I will await your determinations as to just what you want to know?? There is no listing for Someo as an Italian surname in the Italian surname dictionary. it does not mean that it is not an Italian name it just signifies that the name is unique to the area or town and may be an Italian word in the common word italian dictionary. Look it up!! Peter

Hi JJ

Seems like a very small world indeed. I also have a great great grandfather who moved to the UK when he was a young man. This would have taken place somewhere between the late 1890 to 1900. Will have to ask my grandmother for more info, but his surname was also Someo.
