Hi,
I'm still waiting for help on uploading an avatar from my machine. None of the avatars I have is animated and have been resized to 30x30pixels.
The error msg reads that I am trying to upload an animated avatar or that it is too large.
Help is appreciated.I've emailed for tech assistance on this several times since joining. Are the only avatars allowed from the gallery on this website?
I would do backflips, but I don't want to hurt me self!
Thanks,
Mia
TECHNICAL QUESTION for anyone who will answer, thanks
Re: TECHNICAL QUESTION for anyone who will answer, thanks
Hi MiaAna
30x30 seems very small - perhaps that is the problem...
I usually go for about 80x80. My avatar here is 75x75.
You clearly know the path to get to where you upload your chosen avatar -
Then:
Go to Browse and find the file where your choice is (but choose a slightly larger one if you can).
Click on the picture file you want and 'open'. That should put your link into the browse box. Then click on Upload and it 'should' be done.
Who did you send your e-mails to for assistance, because Nuccia and Wldspirit (the two main Mods) are usually very quick to help out with such roblems and they can even upload your avatar for you. Something us ordinary members can't do...
So if what I've said doesn't work - perhaps one of them will pick up your plea from this post and be able to help you... Sorry I can't do more.

Maybe the problem is due to the fact that you are trying to upload an animated avatar.

Libio,
Thank you but none of my avatars are animated. I double checked.

Just send a Private Message to 'nuccia' or 'Wldspirit' (watch the spelling on that one).MiaAna wrote:Greetings Elba,

Ok..Livio you crack me up! Do you have writer's cramp yet? If not, then you need to write a few hundred more lines! And sit at the back of the class for not paying attention!
Carole can you make me a couple of 8 by 10 glossy's please? I would like to distribute them to all our friends at Christmas.
MiaAna,
I did not know you were having any trouble uploading avatars! Wldspirit or I usually help with those.
A couple of questions for you. Are you trying to upload a gif? Sometimes gifs were originally animated but once resized lose the animation. They are still "animated" though. Your best best is make sure your avatar is a jpeg..or jpg.
Next, you shouldn't upload 30 by 30 or it will be too small. I would try for something around the 80 by 80.. and it has to be under 6 KB or the file size will read an error message.
If you are having trouble, email me the avatar..not the smallest one though and I will have a look to see if I can resize it correctly for you. Then we can take it from there.
