Okay this is going to sound crazy but I am the descendant of Joseph Lise (from his first marriage).
All info on this thread is related to the Lise family:
http://italiangenealogy.tardio.com/Foru ... art=0.html

I had heard from my father (who is Joseph Lise's grandson) that his grandfather left the family. There were rumors that he went back to Italy. But no he remarried!! Hurraaaaah. This is crazy isn't!?

Joseph Lise had four children William Anthony (my grandfather) 1913 , Maria 1914, Rita/Reta 1917 and Louis 1920.

William Anthony (my grandmother) married a Josephine (Paduano) and my father was born. I believe all of my Lise family except for my dad live in the US (at least one in NY).

My father immigrated to Japan in the 70s, which is where I was born (I'm half Italian-American and Japanese).

Ok Lottie Masters hooked up with Joseph Loise, Tile Setter, And had 7 children,
Tootsie, Albert, Joseph, Gloria, Emily, Jeanie and Rita
They were not married until after the first 2 or three were born

I think his first wife was Josephine Toia (Lise) Married here in the states and children listed on a 1930 census with her father head of house hold A?? Toia.
She was listed as Married and the childrens names were:
William Anthony age 17
Marion age 15
Reta age 13
Louis age 9 all have the last name Lise Her spouse not listed.
From the Josephine Lise (maiden name Toia) Census -
Joseph Lise disappears in 1920 and 1930 although he was present in 1910.
This is all making sense now!
