Addresses in Italy

Post by kranch1 »

I am writing to Italy using addresses gleaned from paginebianche.it. My question concerns the actual address. There is a number, followed by the town, with the region in parenthesis. Then, there is, perhaps a name, a comma, and a number. Is the number part of the address, or just part of the search engine's printout.

Example
90043 Camporeale (PA) - Contrada Signorino, 130
tel:

Thank you for your help

The number is a zip code followed by the town name, then (Province initials) followed by street address which contains a number which is part of the street address. The telephonenumber is beneath.

I'm sorry for being so ignorant; do I address the envelope as follows:
Signorino Contrada
130
Camporeale PA 90043
Thanks

The correct formatting is

Persons name
Street name and number
zipcode town name
Italy

In your case

Persons name
Contrada Signorino 130
90043 Camporeale
Italy

I agree Livio, but shouldn't the Province letters (PA) follow the CAP (zip) code and the town name and thus be:
90043 Camporeale (PA)

I know all my post shows CAP + town name + Province abbreviation in parentheses....

Not necessarily, the town is identified by the CAP and the by its name, however some times I also add the province.

I believe all ways are acceptable, are they not? Just remember to put ITALY..

Now you have choices.

Thanks everyone for the contributions. :)
