A clause in the Atto di Matrimonio of my g-grandparents,
dated 27 May 1900, reads:
Il suddetto matrimonio hanno prestato il consento i genitori
dello sposo minorenne come risulta all'atto di richiesta delle
pubblicazioni.
I interpret this to mean that the underage groom has the consent
of his parents as requested in the marriage banns.
The question I have is this: the groom in question is 23, having
been born on 13 July 1876 (stated elsewhere in this same
document. Were the laws of majority different back then,
or am I misinterpreting the clause?
You can view the full page of the Atto di Matrimonio at:

Re: How to interpret a clause in marriage record
Hi,
in Italy, at that time, men were major at 25 and women at 21. Below that age they needed the parents consent to get married.
