Denise,
Great idea, since Ernesto died so young no doubt the information on his death certificate will be pretty accurate: possibly parents names and place of birth.

Having a tough time finding Ernesto's ship manifest.
Iannicelli was often mistranscribed as Jannicelli.
Tried several sites and many variations without any luck.

No records under 'Tesio' and no similar name in Campania.

The census records indicate both Ernesto & Maria arrived about 1900, married about 1906. Could they have traveled with family?

Looking for 1910 census next.

Thanks :D ! Valarie

Valerie :)
I do believe that My Grandfather traveled alone, and was kind of shunned by his family for doing so..I know my Dad said he spoke more then 2 languages and had been to college.Came from a well to do family that was disappointed they he chose to leave college to come to the states. I think there is still alot of family there, 1 a cousin of Dad's that is a Doctor..I just don't know in what town in Naples they live, or lived..
Could Tesio, be spelt wrong and it could be Teseo? It could be wrong on My dad's death Cert,..
You are wonderful to help me like this

Denise
Not sure what the correct spelling on Maria’s name would have been
Still no luck on Ernesto’s ship manifest or the 1910 census.

Did find his probable naturalization index card on footnote. com
Not much info on the card - would have to order his paperwork for possible ship information and place of birth.
Valarie

index card
Publication Number: M1675
Publication Title: Alphabetical Index to Declarations of Intention of the U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of New York, 1917-1950
Publisher: NARA
State: New York
Immigrant Full Name: Iannicelli, Ernesto

These cards contain limited information about the immigrant.
Locate an individual by name, then use the numbers to order documents from NARA.
The three digit-number on these index cards is the volume number.
The other number is the Declaration of Intention number.
Use these numbers and any other data you have on the applicant when requesting copies of the declarations.

I do not want to bump Valerie out of the way but SAN GIORGIO is very common name either standing alone as San Giorgio or part of a name that includes San Giorgio in the name. Further there are several in the Campania region in which Napoli is a province as well as other provinces containing San Giorgio. so here is what you do to refine your research and give Valerie more specific information.

Go to www.nonsolocap.it and put in the top SAN GIORGIO and click CERCA. Three pages of all sorts of names of San Giroguio standing alone in Campania region and included with other names inthe campania region as well. You have to find the right one so that you can obtain all the records of Births, marriages and deaths. Please let us know which one might sound like the right one. =Peter=

The town is possibly San Giorgio a Cremano which is in the province of Naples, and very near the city of Naples. The surname does exist there. Here are a few sites to help you.
