Yes, I understand your feeling... :D
When the Cemetery will ask to you about Minia's burial and the other persons who are buried maybe we should understand better...

There are two more pages to Raniero's 1862 passport application on footnote. Not much info, but may be nice to have.
Do we have the manifest for the return trip?

Hello Ann :D ,
For Italian records we'll need the comune where the family was born/married.
May be tough to find unless it's on a marriage/death record.
They're too old to have WWI Draft Registration Cards...
The town wasn't listed on ship manifests until the latter 1890's and on naturalization paperwork after abt 1906.

Hi Valarie,
thank you so much for your help. The only thing I know and it is just through the correspondence I have had with you guys is that Raniero was a native of Ancona. Which according to Laura is in the Marche region of Italy on the Adriatic sea. Not sure if that is helpful.

Laura
Ann, you're right I missed that.
I'm pretty sure only military records are kept at the province level.
Someone else can confirm.

I found a very, very interesting old newspaper article on this site:
http://www.fultonhistory.com/

http://www.fultonhistory.com/Newspapers ... ehtml&.pdf

you can find there the news of the death of Rainero Rebecchini on december 1878.
He was unmarried, he was living on Lexington aenue with his two sisters. He was the son of Serafino Rebecchini (a very well known teacher of vocal music and organist) native of Ancona, Italy. :!:
His uncles on his mother's side were noted as artist and cornet players..
The newspaper says that he arrived to the US with his father on 1850, so the arrival manifest of S. Rebecchini and R. Rebecchini was for him (Raniero) and his father (Serafino).
If these persons were related to Minia they were coming from Ancona - Marche region.

Laura
Isotta and Giudetta Rebecchini

Again, from Laura's find :D
The New York Evening Telegram, 26 Dec 1878, article about Raniero's death, it states
"Mr Rebecchini was unmarried and resided with his two sisters at 1219 Lexington Avenue,
and was the main support of the household..."

Perhaps this is the 1900 census for both sisters?
