Help with military uniform
Hi, I rec'd a picture of my Grandfather Lorenzo Romano in , what we all seem to beieve is his infantry dress uniform from the Italian army circa 1908 to 1911. Can someone give me a hand with the exact type of uniform this is??
The photo on the top right is the one I am looking for the information on. The other one to the bottom left is Lorenzo at a later date

Re: Help with military uniform
I forgot to mention the story that goes with this.
It seems my Grandfather did his two years in the infantry and came home only to learn he was to be sent back in for another two years. With that he decided it was a better idea to come to america.

Re: Help with military uniform
The other info that were published in the Tuttogenealogia forum are:
I don't know where you can get military records, maybe other forumers will be able to give you that answer.Together with the 17th infantry regiment it was part of the Acqui Infantry Brigade.
Recruitment districts were: Ascoli Piceno, Brescia, Caltanisetta, Chieti, Frosinone, Genova, Novara, Padova, Verona.
During the peace time the 18th regiment was located in Chieti.

Re: Help with military uniform
I have decided to try one of my relatives, hopefully someone here will be able to provide some info regarding what his military info represents. His name was Paolo Salvo, and this picture was probably taken somewhere around 1900 or in the early 1900s. He lived in the vicinity of Giusvalla near Savona(I have better notes regarding him at my home, I can update this post later if needed).
