Bari Italy (Bari) BMD records prior to 1809?
Re: Bari Italy (Bari) BMD records prior to 1809?
that is correct. They had three children by those names here in the U.S. Pietro had a brother Donato born in Genzano and a sister Maria Domenica born in San Ferdinando in 1892 but died young. Supposedly they had another brother named Pasquale but I can't find a birth record for him in San Ferdinando records (but on his passenger record it says he was born in San Ferd.).
I'm looking for their marriage certificate so that I can possibly get the parents information, if any.

Giuseppe Caprioli (or Capriola) and Angela Modugno had this children:
Donato (1883) married with Mary.
Pasquale (1885) married with Anna.
Pietro and Isabella had 3 sons. They lived in California, but for the moment I haven't find date of death of Donato and Pasquale Caprioli.

Pietro & Isabella has 3 DAUGHTERS not sons...
YOU FOUND PASQUALE... Come meraviglioso!
Thank you so very much for this find!!! Am I correct that Pasquale was born in San Ferdinando di Puglia in 1885 or was he born in Genzano like his brother Donato?
Many thanks!
Anna

I know all this. I know our entire family tree from ISabella & Pietro down through all of their decendants.
What I can't find is Pasquale's birth record.
I've been doing some researching and "detective work" on the Capriolis and Palumbos and think I have found the town they came from - Bisceglie. Not far from San Ferdinando di Puglia. I'm hoping to get those films in from the FHC/LDS in about 3 weeks or so. Hopefully it'll give me what I need.

Regarding the noble Palumbo (also known as Palumbus and Palomba) of Bari - calm yourselves! It appears the fantasies and delusions of grandeur present at the start of this thread did actually yield to objective rationale thinking.
Let me say this - the cognome Palumbo is one of the most widespread and common in Italy:
http://www.gens.info/italia/it/turismo- ... Ep36or3anM
Further - even had your family lived in the actual city of Bari (and they didn't), you would be still immediately disqualified as a potential descendant of the nobile famiglia Palomba/Palumbus, and you would still be disqualified as a potential descendant of the nobiluomo Giovanni Palumbo who did indeed come to Bari, from Avignone (France), in 1530, for one very unavoidable truth - THE NOBLE FAMILY PALUMBO WAS CERTAINLY EXTINCT BY THE TIME YOUR ANCESTORS COME IN QUESTION.
We can confirm without doubt and with absolute certainty that you are not a descendant of this noble family, and that your ancestors merely had the same vastly spread
Continue your search to find your real ancestors, but not to find any connection to the noble family you speak of, as they are not relatives of yours. Trust me, if your ancestors were ennobled, you'd know.
That will be all I will say on the matter.
