Post by katie123 »

i know another question already and i am so sorry but this as been bothering me for the past couple weeks...

okay, my grandmother's maiden name was lore. she says that it was originally lo re (2 words intended) anybody know what that means?

her father was Thomas lore born sep 25, 1915 - dec 24 1984
he had 2 sisters, one who i know nothing about was called mildred and may have married a demaio and one who was called frances and i am told married a capone. any info on them please.

everybody above was from chicago

Their father was also called thomas lore and grandma said that he *gasp* separated from his wife who's name i do not know.
if you can find her name and where they both came from.

thanks and again sorry for asking so many questions!! i'll go to the irish forum to be a bother now.....

Since Thomas Lore had a Social Security number, you may want to order his SS Application (abt $27)

Social Security Application SS-5

About the SS Application:
http://genealogy.about.com/od/online_re ... equest.htm

What the application may include by Kimberly Powell at about.com:
Application for Social Security Number is a great resource for learning more
about individuals who died after about 1960, and generally includes the
following:
- Full name
- Full name at birth, including maiden name
- Present mailing address
- Age at last birthday
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Father's full name
- Mother's full name, including maiden name
- Sex
- Race as indicated by the applicant
- Whether the applicant ever applied for Social Security or Railroad Retirement before
- Current employer's name and address
- Date signed
- Applicant's signature

Order form SSA-711 (can be done online):
http://www.ssa.gov/foia/html/foia_guide.htm
