Information about D'Onofrio family

Post by grumpy215 »

My great grandfather emmigrated to the US in 1884. We believe he came from Ferrandina. His name was Frank D'Onofrio and his father's name was John D'Onofrio and his mother Eugenia Fiore. I am wondering if there is any information availablke that would indicate this is indeed the town he came from.

There are 6 persons surnamed D'Onofrio in Ferrandina who are most likely relatives. Gio to www.paginebianche.it and put in D'onofrio in the first line and Ferrandina in the second line and click CERCA for all 6 by name, address and telephone numbers.

Go to http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... tters.html for italianlangiage letters to request birth.marriage and death records as well as Ceritifcato di Stato di Famiglia Storico in grandfathers name
as head of family.

Go to www.nonsolocap.it/basilicata/30-ferrandina for the address under Municipio. =Peter=

Good luck grumpy215 - hope the NY brings some data to you.
I descend from D'Onofrio's from the Campobasso Province - known area of families, Roccaspromonte & Castropignano - oldest known GGF, 7x c. 1680 by name of Giuseppe.

Cheers and Holiday greetings
