I have been searching for where I would be able to view the ship records for my great grandfathers brother. His name was Antonio terracino, and according to nara, he arrived 6/22/1891 on the Alesia from naples.
I am hopeing that his father traveled with him so that I might learn his name. any information on the terracino family name and how I might vew the ship record would be much appreciated.

Re: Ship records
Do you have access to ancestry? Members can guide you in the direction to search or search for records for you.
If you need any look-ups additional info is needed....In what year was he born? To which US state did he immigrate to? Name of spouse, including maiden name if known? Names of children? Birth dates for all, even a year can be helpful.
Let us know how you want to proceed.....

Re: Ship records
thank you so much for your help. I will have access to ancestry very soon. I just purchased Family tree maker, so that I can put all of my info in the tree before I register. After I register i will get free ancestry because of purchase. I did not know that this ship was avaiable there.
I was hopeing to have gotten some info on his father, still searching for that. I have traced back my great grandfather Gaetano Thomas Terracino, to April 28, 1877, according to his naturilization papers he was born in tremonte, Italy(no idea).
His mother, Maria Bonavoglia, and sister Gelsomina were listed as traveling with him on ship Leon III which arrived August 12, 1903. His last residence was listed as Pagani. they were traveling to New York City, to Antonio.
Sorry to go on and on. If you have any suggestions on how I can go any further I would love to hear it.
Thank you
Sandy

Re: Ship records
No other Terracino sailed with Antonio on the Alesia as the passenger lists for all Terracino only shows Antonio on the Alesia.=Peter=

Re: Ship records
Hello, for everyone's reference, your 1903 manifest & special inquiry page from ancestry. com
1903 manifest
10 Aug 1903, SS Leone III, Naples to NY
lines 27-30
Gaetano Terracino 25, abt 1878
- last residence Pagani (possibly Pagani, Salerno, Campania)
- destination New York City
- joining brother Antonio at (?) West 29th Street
wife Marianna Pepe 19, abt 1884
(sister) Gelsomina Terracino 22, abt 1881
- single
(mother) Maria Bonavoglia 46, abt 1857
- married
special inquiry page
line 2
LPC (likely public charge)
released after one day on 11 Aug
---
The Antonio on the 1891 manifest (born abt 1855) is probably too old to be Gaetano's brother
This may help locate Antonio's manifest
If both Antonio & Gaetano lived in Orange County, NY
Gaetano: possible 1918 WWI Draft Registration Card
Antonio: possible 1918 WWI Draft Registration Card
born 13 Dec 1878

Re: Ship records
There are 115 Terracino listed by social security, ellisisand, WW11 registry andfind a grave at www.worldvitalrecords.com
It is a paying website but it works as a name check sometimes or just go down to where it says SOUNDEX and it brings up the name and others as well and if there are not too many it acts as a ancestry.com. Just put in Terracino. =Peter=

Re: Ship records
Thank you both so much for the information. I am thrilled to see the draft cards, that is indeed them. Now I have more information to work with. Also thank you so much for the link to vital records, I was able to get the photos of my family gravestones. (Family thinks I am nuts when I ask for pictures of headstones).
I have finally finished loading info in family treemaker, so will sign on the ancestry and see what else i can find there. thank you for all of your help.
