trick - how to get ellisisland.org Original Doc. for free!

today I discover how to get the original doc from ellisisland.org
Probably someone already know how to do it but I think this is an important info for all user!!
Moreover the internal forum search engine doesn't work and I can't determine if there is other topiclike this!
Anyway :
- first you must search your ancestor and select his exact file
- now you must see the original microfilm clicking "View origina ship manifest"
- afer right-click on the microfilm image and select "open image in new window" or similar

now you have an URL that end with ".......&S=.1"
S mean size and .1 value tell to the tif2gif application to show 1/10 of the original size....

Chose your favourite size and enjoy your original document!!!

You can also just hit the print screen button and then paste it into your word program then you can enlarge it if needed.

It is not a trick, since they sell the manifests it can be seen as immoral in some quarters. Peter
