Free 1930 census?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

you can also check your local library branches. certain individual ones might have free access to ancestry.com. I use it to get some documents, although I go a half hour away to get to it. The only drawback is that I can't access my family tree through the library edition or access public family trees. I think the one world tree is available, though. I usually check the hints and do some searches first so that I know what to search for when I go to the library. I make better use of my time that way.

Is this Raymond?

If so, there is probably enough information here to obtain his social security application form. With other details, it will list his father's full name, mother's maiden name, and place of birth. With that info, you can possibly get a birth certificate.

Ship's manifest for Andrea (Line 21) and Alesandro (Line 20) Iafrate travelling to meet (someone) in Bridgewater, Mass.

Manifest transcribed as Place of Birth = Castelverde, however actual document clearly says Arpino for Alesandro and Castel... for Andrea.

I believe Place of Birth for Andrea is Comune di Castelliri, Provincia di Frosinone, Regione di Lazio, Central Italy which would be about 7 miles from Arpino.

Andrea Yafrate WWII draft registration card. By the way, in case it is not obvious, "Iafrate" is the Italian spelling; the "Ia" syllable is often americanized to "Ya" because that is the way it is typically pronounced.

Most likely second side of WWII draft card. Cannot be certain because these records are sometimes microfilmed backwards and there is no way to ensure that the front side belongs to the back side.

Damn, I'm good! (sorry for the gloating :) )

Andrea's wife (Filomena; can't make out the last name, on Line 25) and son Federico (Line 26) ship's manifest. Filomena possibly travelling with a brother, Domenico, on line 24?

Coming to meet her husband (does it also say his/Domenico's brother-in-law?) Andrea Iafrate.
