First name: Barbato
Re: First name: Barbato
Hi Rosemary!
The Barbato Mastrandrea I am trying to trace has a son Pasquale b. 6/23/1909 (changes last name to Musantry) - Pasquale marries Fannie Lopilato in NYC
I am told that Pasquale is one of 9 siblings (5 girls/4 boys).
That's all I have at the moment - no wife of Barbato as yet.

Thank you Rosemary!
I guess I need to do a bit more searching!
I do find a Pasquale Mastrangelo in NYC b. abt 1909 on both the 1920 and 1930 Census... Do you have the ability to look at those?

Re: First name: Barbato
Here is a great website for New York research and the next one is for obtaining records...easier if you can find them in the index.
http://www.italiangen.org/VRECLIST.stm
http://www.nyc.gov/html/records/html/vi ... home.shtml
Family Search has a great new version that turns up more than the old one.
http://fsbeta.familysearch.org/
Name spelling is always a problem. I have relatives in their 90s who insisted their name never had the exra "R" (Mastrandrea)...until I showed them their father's signature on several old documents. Aslo the census takers didn't hear correctly. I think some were from a different background trying to spell a name in an accent they were unfamiliar with. Good luck with your search.

Thank you Rosemary!
I believe I found something from your link!
I find a NYC Death Index record for:
Barbeto Musantry - 72 years old - died 2/12/1938 Bronx, NY (and as I was told that is the last name Barbeto Mastrandrea changed to)
I think that's a positive lead for me!

Re: First name: Barbato
Good work. You can use the cert number and order his death certificate. It should have his parents names on it. Also do a marriage search under all the various names and see if anything comes up.

Re: First name: Barbato
I was given the baptismal certificate for Barbeto's son (Pasquale Musantry) last night - its from 1909 and Barbeto is going by the last name of Musantry and lists his wife as "Gaetana Greppa"
I'm still digging!

Rosemary!
I was able to get the Death Certificate for Barbeto "Frank Musantry" Mastrandrea (died 2/12/1938 NY) - wife Gaetana (also went by Agnes).
Barbeto "Frank" parents listed on Death Certificate as Barbeto Mastrandrea and Guiseppa (Ulse or Nese? very hard to make out).
Any connections?

Re: First name: Barbato
Hi,
Not that I can see. My Barbato Mastrandrea was married to a Giuseppa Rubano but she died in 1893. His next wife was Clementina Maglio. Have not found any children from them and he left to go back to Italy by 1909.

Re: First name: Barbato
My grandfathers name was Barbato Rubano. He came from Valle Dell Angelo to New York to New Jersey. He married Dora Andriola and lived in Jersey City. He had 9 brothers and 2 sisters. Some of his brothers came to US. There are 2 brothers still alive in Valle Dell Angelo. I'm trying to put together a family tree...any relatives out there?

Hello Edmondo
I sent you an email with a bunch of info regarding the family. Maybe I didn't send to right person. Anyhow...I was looking at the family tree page that you have and it seems to have all the info I sent you already. My grandfather Barbato came to USA and lived in Jersey City, New Jersey on Wayne street. He married Dora Andrieula who was born in New York. He worked as a shoe maker in NY. He brought over some of his brothers, one was a tailor in NY. They had 5 daughters: Carol, Rosanna, Eleanor, Norma, and Geraldine.
Let me know what else you need
