Firstly may I thank everyone for taking the time to contribute to our search.
Now I would like to clarify a few things about Antonio Tetesegge as the thread seems to have got confused.
This is what I have.
My Grandfather Antonio Tetesegge married Mary Elizabeth Chambers at St Cuthberts RC church in North Shields Tynemouth on 24th October 1911. This info is from the marriage certificate which I have.
Antonios age is as far as I can tell given as 29 Mary Elizabeth was 19.

Antonio and Mary Elizabeths children are Antonia, born 1913, Mary Rose (my mother), born 1916, Joseph born 1918 and died the same year, Louis born 1919 and Francis who was born some years later in 1930.
Most of the info I have is heresay from my mother and my own recollections of visits to and by my Aunty Tony (Antonia)
I sketchily recall that my mother when asked about her father's birthplace said that it was a small town, I only recall that it began with "S" and I think she said near Naples but I can't be sure.
The name story is a bit of a mystery because after getting a glimpse of her marriage certificate when I was a teenager I asked why her maiden name on her marriage certificate (Tetesagge) was different to her maiden name on my birth certificate (Tedesco).
The answer seemed to fluctuate between it was changed so that people could more easily spell and say it or it was something to do with internment and animosity towards Italians during WW1, of this I am not sure as I already knew that Tedesco in italian means German, but this story does comply with the fact that Antonia and my mother Mary Rose were both registered as Tetesagge at birth and the later children from 1818 were registered as Tedesco GRO indexes confirm this.
Of Antonio's children only Francis is still alive and being of advancing years and ill health is unable to recall any significant details which would help.
The relations mentioned in earlier posts by my daughter are, in fact, cousins (Antonia's children) still living in Tyneside, they have told me that the family that remained in tyneside, my mother married my father in 1940 and moved to yorkshire, had a close relationship with the Italian community within Tyneside, and it is this which is reffered to in the above posts. Please forgive the confusion.
I am in the process of obtaining what I think to be Antonio's Death certificate GRO index Q1 1943 aged 75, however this poses another inconsistancy in that if he was 75 in 1943 he could not have been only 29 in 1911.
I would have to view the original church record to see if there has been a mistake but I am unable to visit the archives in Northumberland at the moment and I understand that the records in question are in Latin.
Antonios wife Mary Elizabeth also moved to Yorkshire in 1943, I assume after Antonio's death, and remarried later that year.
I have searched countless Census records in the hope of finding Antonio using any and all variations of the name I could imagine but to no avail.
However when considering the age given at death and the subsequent adjustment of estimated birth I did find an entry in the 1901 census which sparked my interest.

This is why SORA is suggested as Antonio's birthplace, the clues fit, right age, Italian, right place and same occupation but, and it is a big but, the name is TEDESCO not TETESEGGE so you can all see my dilema.
The Question is is he TEDESCO or TETESEGGE or both or none.
If after reading this endless tome you think you can help I thank you once again.
Regards
Graham
