Wasn't Gervasio's wife a Baiocchi :?:

On the 1900 census record above... the person below "Pia's" name was Natale Biocca..?? (other records may have him as BUCCI)... but haven't really looked into it yet...

Here's a census record of interest...

Name: Natale Barocchi Age: 67 Estimated birth year: abt 1863 Birthplace:
Italy Relation to head-of-house: Head Spouse's Name: Mary Barocchi
Race: White Home in 1930: Osceola, Houghton, Michigan

1930 census

Here's the 1900 census record (just so you don't have to flip the page....)

Name: Bera Lombardo, Home in 1900: Osceola, Houghton, Michigan Age: 21 Estimated birth year: 1879 Birthplace: Italy Race: White Relationship to head-of-house: Servant Occupation: Immigration year: 1899

That is a different Pia. Gervasio/Joseph had a sister Pia (the one I am looking for) and a daughter named Pia. His daughter Mary Velia was married to a Natale Chiamalera and ? Bonaguro. Gervasio had 2 wives. Both of them Baiocchi. His first wife died and he married her sister 4 months later. So much for a long mourning period.

I was hoping that the Natale Baiocchi listed on the census records could be a possible brother to Jennie Baiocchi... (one of Gervasio's wives...)

Hi Everyone,

Mfjp, Great find!!! I too found those census records and I agree with you. I think that "Bera" could be Pia. The age matches up, the name is very similar, the city and State are the same and she is living next to the Barocchi family.

You have to remember that a person needed a sponsor as well as job already lined up when they migrated to the USA. Therefore, the Oscelo family could have sponsored Pia.

Also remember that the Census Taker was a person just like you and me trying write down names of people who spoke broken-English and therefore why so many mispelled surnames.

I'm still searching for Guili but not have a luck finding it.

Smile for me!:)

Thank you Trish :!: The info you provided about Gervasio at the other post is great

Just to recall... Gervasio married 2 sisters...
Marriage 1 Genia Jennie BAIOCCHI b: ABT 1875 in Italy
Married: 9 FEB 1901 in of Franklin Twp., Houghton, MI

Marriage 2 Fannie BAIOCCHI b: ABT 1877 in Italy
Married: 18 JUN
............

Fannie named her second child after Pia in 1905...

At this point.. I can assume that she was killed sometime between 1903 (when she married Enrico) and 1905... 8O :?:

What is the Italian name for Fanny....???

I think I found yet another wife for Enrico Giuli. Beppino Moni married Enrico Giuli in Hancock, Houghton, MI 9 Dec 1904. Shows the same parents for Enrico. So that would mean Pia died between Aug of 1903 and Dec of 1904. Will have to find out how Guiseffina got in the picture in 1912 according to the manifest you gave me.

Great :!: We are both wondering the same things... where did you get this info about Beppino? Is it online?

A while back wldspirit mentioned a Henry Giules (Guiles?) something like that... which made me curious... his birthyear is the same, the town is the same..., his wife's name is Elizabeth ("Lizzie" just going on memory here...) and he does show up twice in the census records...

Their year of marriage also seems to fit in with the timeline... he could have remarried in 1904 or 1905 right after she arrived in the USA... her immigration dates are listed as 1904 and 1905...

I will post the census records later this evening...

The manifest of 1912 shows that he is married to a Giuseppina which is interesting too...

Do you think "Beppino" is the same person as Giuseppina?

I found it on the LDS website. I look at it often but have not seen it until today. Not sure if they are the same person yet. What is the american name for Beppino? I am guessing that Giuseppina is Josephine.

Save me some time since you are logged in... can you name Enrico's parents...??

Father is Archangelo Giuli
Mother is Emily Mariucci tho on the second marriage of Enrico it showed her as Variucci but same father. I am sure it is the same.

I am not sure about that. Along with Leandro/Andrew's parents. I don't think they were here, but not sure. Thinking about it and looking at the past post. I did find Enrico (husband) Elizabeth (wife) Jedo (son) and a daughter I can't remember right now on a website for cemetery listings in the UP of MI.
