Marty and Bette and anyone else,
The Allegati should contain death information for Pietrantonio's parents Francesco and Anna Meli as well as death information for Faustina's mother Carolina Tolisano as well as birth information on Pietrantonio and Faustina. However, in checking I wasn't able to find Saracena records. They records are a real dog's dinner.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for the work you've put in and the information you've been able to uncover, thank you so much!
Curious about the Family History Center/Affiliate libraries as I'm very interested in finding Pietro & Faustina's birth information. Fortunately I live in New York City so I should be able to easily access one - simply walk in and begin searching on a computer with the right access? Anything else I should know or prepare?
Mille grazie

Records for Saracena for Faustina's birth and Records for Lungro for Pietrantonio Longo are availalble to view. I believe you need to become a member of Familysearch to access records. Also, you should check at the Manhattan Family History Center to determine if you need to schedule time to use their computers. These records are in Italian by year and type of record. You'd be looking for Nati (births) records. Births, deaths, marriages usually have an index at the beginning or the end with a # of the record which makes locating records easier. If there is no index, you have to do a page by page search. I'm not sure what the policy of the Manhattan FHC is as to whether you can save images to a flash drive or take a pic from the screen.SBarretta wrote: 03 Apr 2019, 12:08 I cannot express my gratitude enough for the work you've put in and the information you've been able to uncover, thank you so much!

Re: Great-Great-Grandfather Pietro Longo in Italy
Hi all,
Good news - I was finally able to stop by a Family History Center and obtained a copy of Pietro Longo's birth record from Lungro! Wouldn't have been able to achieve this without the help and guidance from this community.
I also tried to find Faustina's from Saracena, however those records are quite disorganized and I was unsuccessful. While Lungro's records are grouped by year and by births/marriages/deaths, Saracena's seem more or less a free for all. Does anyone have any experience with or tips for doing page-by-page searches in such situations?
Many thanks once again
For reference (both require a Family History Center computer to view):

Saracena Records 1853-1857 (Faustina): https://www.familysearch.org/search/fil ... cat=386957
