Happy to help, Ron. I guess I'll never know what the word "grembo" means in the context of a church record, unless I ask a priest. I did a search here and noticed that the question has come up before and no one has ever responded so it's a mystery, at the moment.

Per Google Translate, grembo means womb. Can't see that on a church record either.

Yes, it does. It can also mean lap. Thinking about the word womb, being the place where life begins and nurturing happens, I think it's possibly just another way of saying "mother church". Who knows. Just my thinking.
