Valenti/e Family

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

It is interesting in that some of my Valenti/e relatives also come from Medford. I am trying to figure out a common connection if any. Especially since some of my valenti/e's are also buried at Holy Cross in Medford. It will be interesting to see if there is a connection.

Hello. I am also a Valente. I can honestly say I do not know much about my family, but this is what I do know.

My Grandfather's name was Ernesto or Ernie Valente. I know he had a sister named Mary. I do not know if he had any other brothers and sisters. Ernie Valente married Audrey Browsoski (sorry if I spelled that wrong Grandma!). My Grandfather, Ernie, passed away when he was around 32 years old. Ernie and Audrey had 5 children. Matthew Valente, Christina Valente, Mike Valente, and Pat Valente. I have been trying to find out more about my Grandfather and the town he lived in Italy. All I have been told is that its a small town in the foothills of the Alps. I tried going to Ellis Island.com - but couldn't locate information on my Grandfather. I believe he was between the ages of 7 and 11 when he came here with his Aunt and Uncle from Italy.

If anyone has information on the town he may have been from, I would love to know - or any additional information on my Grandfathers family.

Looking for help extending my wife's Valenti line. I'm currently stuck with her great-great grandfather Giuseppe Valenti (b. ~1846 (one of his trips to America indicates place of birth as Niscemi), d. after 1925 (he immigrated to America 1925). His wife was Marianna Russo (b. ~ 1848, d. likely before 1925 Sicily). Giuseppe had at least 2 siblings (both were listed as nearest living relative on arrival in America (2 separate trips)):
Gaetana Valenti (no known birth or death)
Antonino Valenti (no known birth or death)

I know of at least 4 children from various trips to America:
Giuseppe Valenti (b. ~ 1874 Niscemi, d. ??) Only record I have of her is arrival in America 1912.
Gaetana Valenti (b. 1875 Niscemi, d. 1919 NY, USA) married Nunzio Scarentino *My wife's Great grandmother* (may have married in Sicily)
Gaetano Valenti (b. 1884 Niscemi, d. 1972 NJ, USA) married Biagina Cagnina (married in America)
Alfonso Valenti (b. ~1890 Niscemi, d. ??) Cannot find any record of him after arriving in NYC 1909

I would love to extend the family line back another generation, but would also like to have any birth or marriage records for Giuseppe/Marriana Russo OR Gaetana/ Nunzio Scarantino.
