Re: Termine / Candiotta Family
Thank you again.
The family thinks Salvatore Termine (jr) came through Ellis Island. I tried that web site to look at the ship manifest, but it keeps bringing up the wrong ship. We have found a Salvatore Termine, b. 1890 that arrived in New York on May 6, 1906 on the IL Piedmonte.
Anyone else have any luck with the Ellis Island web site? Can you see the manifest for the IL Piedmonte?
We need to see if that Salvatore was traveling with anyone and what was his distination.
We Know for sure that he was in New Orleans, just need to confirm if he came through Ellis Island or on Via New Orleans.
Thank for any help on this.
Jaime

Hey Jaime,
I looked at it yesterday - I'm pretty sure it was a stowaway list.
I'll find it & post it.
Do you know if Sam had a brother Joseph born abt 1892?
Arrived in Louisiana abt 1907, married someone from Colorado, lived in California?

Re: Termine / Candiotta Family
Yes, he did have a brother named Joseph. I have no info on him other than his name. He had another brother named George.
What is a stowaway list?
I'm trying to still look at that manifest from Ellis Island, can't get the right ship at the right time.

Re: Termine / Candiotta Family
My mother doesn't remember any stories of Sam jr coming to America with his father.
But the Salvatore (sr) and (jr) listed with a Troncale has me questioning other family.

I'm pretty sure this is a list of folks found on the ship during the voyage
Guessing they weren't registered and hadn't paid for their trip - since they weren't on any other manifest page.

If this is Salvatore/Sam Termine’s brother, this manifest would help to confirm that their father Salvatore was in Lousiana in the early 1900's.

Thank you, that does connect them more to a New Orleans arrival.
The "here" link didn't work to see Joseph's info.

Re: Termine / Candiotta Family
I am really convinced now that the info you found is the correct family. My moms said she does remember hearing that Salvatore (jr) arrived in New Orleans, but no one can remember any story that he came over with his father.
Can't contact my aunts til the weekend to see if any of them remember any stories.

Re: Termine / Candiotta Family
I sure will
Can you find Salvatore's records? I was told he didn't become a citizen til after he and Sarah Candiotta moved to Los Angeles. Maybe around the same time Joseph got his.
