That is strange. I suppose they could have mistaken a 7 year old girl for a boy, what with the language barrier and all. Maybe that was her. I couldn't get through to the link you posted. It asks for a password, etc.
Does it say who this child was traveling with? Another Maltaglioti perhaps?
Hi There,

When you go to the Ellis Island Site, you have to register with them. Here is the website.

http://www.ellisisland.org/default.asp

Once you register, then you can click on the link above with no problem.

Now about the manifest I gave above, it's only a suggestion for I found it interesting. What you need is some proof such as naturalization records.

I hope this helps
Trish

Garzotto - Covolo

Post by ernesto-garzotto »

Hi! My name is Ernesto Garzotto.
My grandfather was Francesco Garzotto, born in the 1916 in a little town called COVOLO. He married my grandmother Caterina Covolo, born in the 1921 in the same town. COVOLO is a little town in the north of Vicenza, here in Italy. All my family is from that place. It's possibly that your grandfather's were from COVOLO. I know that my grandfather had a cousin in UTAH, Ogden.
